We want this website, and the products we build, to be usable by the widest possible range of people, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology.
Stack46 is operated by FourSix46 Global Ltd, a private limited company. We are not a public sector body and are therefore not subject to the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We nonetheless choose to conform to the accessibility principles those regulations are built on, and we design with the Equality Act 2010's requirement not to discriminate against disabled people in mind. This statement is a voluntary commitment, not a regulatory filing.
This statement covers stack46.com, including its blog, service pages, and contact forms. It does not cover third-party embedded content we do not control, or bespoke products built for individual clients, which are addressed separately in the relevant client agreement.
We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility and the benchmark referenced by UK accessibility regulations. Level AA is the standard most organisations, including government bodies, target as the practical baseline for accessible content.
This website is built using semantic HTML5, WAI-ARIA attributes where native semantics are insufficient, and CSS for presentation, in line with W3C best practice for accessible web content.
Keyboard-navigable interactive elements throughout; colour contrast ratios checked against WCAG AA thresholds; descriptive alt text on informative imagery; respect for prefers-reduced-motion and other user-controlled preferences; and accessibility considerations built into our standard build and QA process rather than treated as a final pass before launch.
We run automated accessibility checks as part of our development process, supplemented by periodic manual keyboard-navigation review. We are working towards a more formal, documented testing cycle — including structured screen reader testing — as our site and tooling continue to evolve. We treat accessibility defects the same way we treat any other product defect: logged, prioritised, and fixed, not filed away as a known limitation indefinitely.
As with any actively developed site, some pages, embedded third-party content, or older client work may not yet meet every WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion. We treat these as defects, not exceptions, and prioritise fixing them as they are identified. If you encounter a specific barrier, please tell us — see Section 10.
